An Update On How Pets Corner Are Helping To Support Animals In Ukraine
Since starting our partnership with U-Hearts Foundation to help the pets and people of Ukraine, we are very proud to be able to get donations to the people who need it most.
This includes shelters such as the Sirius Shelter, just one of the places that food was delivered too, which has over 3000 dogs and 200 cats in need. We have been able to support pet owners who have been forced out of their homes and volunteers fostering pets and feeding strays and homeless animals in abandoned areas. Kennel clubs who are training the incredible service dogs assisting the army of Ukraine are also receiving donations.
So far, our Trusted Foods have been able to donate the following:
Yora
Over 14,400kg of pet food has been distributed to seven regions of Ukraine. This has mostly gone to locations in need with stray and homeless pets left behind in abandoned areas.
McAdams
Over 3000kg of pet food has been distributed to three regions of Ukraine. Most recipients are volunteers who gave shelter to abandoned pets in the Zhytomyr region.
Canagan
480kg of pet food distributed to shelters in need in three regions as well as Chornobyl’s stray dogs.
Tribal
Over 4600kg of pet food distributed between four regions of Ukraine, including Chornobyl where there are many stray dogs.
GreenAcres
Over 2200kg of pet food distributed to two regions as well as Nikopol and Zhytomyr kennel clubs who train service dogs to assist the Ukraine army.
More
Over 860kg of pet food distributed to Kharkiv, Kyiv, Irpin, Chornobyl and Kherson.
Sense6
Over 460kg of pet food distributed to three regions, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.
We are honoured to be a part of the team making a difference to the lives of pets in Ukraine, and in turn their owners and foster families. Food and product donations that we can provide will be essential for improving their lives during the harsh winter season.
We will continue to support the amazing team at U-Hearts and the pets and people of Ukraine with food shipments every 4 months, for at least the next 2 years.
